The Eschaton -

The world is mapped out on the ground beneath your feet and you are a member of a key international power bloc. Will you negotiate your way to victory through means of diplomacy or will you go on the offensive by raining down tennis-based nuclear attacks on your enemies? The end of the world is nigh. Pick your side. Pick up a racket. Let the games begin. 'The Eschaton' is created by and inspired by a game described in David Foster Wallace's 'Infinite Jest'.

This week was a bit extreme for thinkARK. We had two things to contend with. Part of the group were running a project called trade school cardiff which you can find info about in the projects section of the site. It's taking place over the whole week and there are loads of great things being taught and loads of other things being bartered for. Running along side this was having a Wednesday club with a difference.

The year is 1733. Roguish villain Chick Turpin, notorious for deer thievery and highway robbery, has captured the Queen’s prize Stag. A hefty reward is offered for it’s safe return. Can you out-run Chick Turpin, rescue the stag, and recover hoards of stolen booty along the way?

This thrilling treasure hunt, tag team, relay race chase, casts players as 18th century villagers with good noses for hunting and an ability to run (almost) like the wind. But will village heroes become villainous crooks? The choice is yours, share the booty with your team, or head for the grand reward alone…

Pick me up, pass me around and one lucky person will get the prize.

The parcel has instructions that must be followed. Where will they lead you? Who will you meet along the way? And the question on everyone's lips.......who will win the surprise?

A re-work of Surpass the Parcel. Your chance to socialise and unwrap some new prizes.

Register to hold a class or take part in a Trade School Cardiff; the Trade School Cardiff page is up and running!

We need people to run classes for Trade School Cardiff- if you have skills, knowledge or experience that you can share with other people then please go to the Trade School Cardiff page and click register to teach

You can add a description of what you will be doing, a bit about yourself, choose a time and day and list what you would like in exchange for your class.

Once classes have been approved then other people can sign up to take part in them, so we need people to get their ideas on the Trade School Cardiff page as soon as possible!

If you would like to run a class but are a bit nervous of teaching, we have volunteers who can offer support and help you to put your class together. Just let us know.

If you need any help with registering, putting your class together, or would like more information, email laura.howe(at)ark-lab.co.uk

For some inspiration from past classes, have a look at Trade School New York
